Morning sessions: Artists and seekers of all skill levels are invited to learn about sacred geometry and mandala creation from the world’s acknowledged authority on the art of making thangkas, the wall hangings that serve as magnificent art pieces as well as tools for meditation. Afternoon sessions: You are invited to join four visiting Drepung Loseling monks as they build colorful sand mandalas in the sanctuary. Come work alongside them, ask questions, take photos, then help disperse it at the end of each day as a lesson in understanding the temporary, ephemeral nature of all earthly things. Three hours of creative, intercultural, colorful fun in the sanctuary. May 30, 31, June 1 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the sanctuary at Neighborhood Congregational Church.
